Overview

After the Independence, Kasur was declared as a tehsil of district Lahore. Because of the massive land area and the District Headquarter being 70 Km away from Kasur, the crime ratio increased tremendously in the region. Therefore, in 1976, Tehsil Chunian and Kasur were given the status of District Kasur and Maj. Zaheer Ahmad was appointed as the first superintendent of Kasur Police.
Later in 1978, Kasur District Police Office Complex was built near the District Courts by Ch. Arshad Saeed (SP). Now the Complex hosts the offices of SP (Investigation), SP (Head Quarter), DSP (City Circle), DSP (Sadar Circle), DSP (Legal), DSP (Traffic), and DSP (Punjab Highway Patrol) as well.
